July21, 2015 – Ricardo Ratliffe after coming off of his third KBL championship with the Mobis Phoebus was placed into the 2015 players draft for the upcoming season.  Per KBL rules, no import player can play for one team more than three years.  As a result, Ratliffe came to Las Vegas to participate in the annual KBL Draft.

During his three seasons with the Mobis, Ratliffe won three KBL championships and one regular season championship, which has never been done by an import before.  Last season with the Mobis he recorded a career best 19.6 points and 10.2 rebounds per game.

After two and a half days of intense tryouts, Ricardo was taken as the first pick in the 2015 draft by the Samsung Thunder.  The Thunder were the last place team during the 2014-2015 season and are looking for a veteran like Ratliffe to turn their team around. The Thunder have also signed Ratliffe’s former Mobis teammate Greg Stevenson who’s been playing alongside Ricardo since joining the KBL in 2012.

“I would like to give thanks to the Samsung Thunder for drafting me first overall in the 2015 draft.  I’m looking forward to playing with the organization and reuniting with my former teammate Greg Stevenson.”

Ricardo will be leaving to return to Korea in the beginning of August to start his quest for another KBL championship with his new team the Samsung Thunder.
