HAMPTON, VA —Moore Management and Entertainment and CrossOver Promotions, LLC hosted the 2nd youth basketball clinic featuring Ricardo Ratliffe last Saturday, July 11, 2015 at West Hampton Community Center in Hampton, VA.  The Camp was a free one day training session for middle school youth. Ratliffe along with local basketball talent from the area were on hand to direct the kids in drills and competitive play and provide feedback on how to make improvements in basketball fundamentals.  Participants included Bethel High School and Old Dominion University standout Aaron Bacote, Kecoughtan High School and Kecoughtan High School and Boston College guard Dimitri Batten, Phoebus High School and Hampton University shooter Brian Darden and Bethel High School and Virginia Union player Dashawn Barton as well as former Kecoughtan and bethel High School standout Nathanial Motley and his brother Justin.   All the coaches enjoyed taking part in helping the kids learn more about the game of basketball.

Additionally, camp director Davon Barton, former Christopher Newport University standout and recent Hall of Fame inductee, spoke to the kids about making the right decisions in the life, the community, the classroom and with family and friends.  Barton, also represented the iChooseLife Foundation, which he founded in 2011 that works with young people and helps them examine their decision making processes and develop as leaders.

Youth who participated in the clinic received gift bags, water bottles, towels and other gifts sponsored by Reebok.  Standout campers were also given Reebok gift cards to use in stores or online as well.   This year the number of youth participants grew from 30 last year to 50 this year.  Ratliffe enjoys hosting this event in his hometown and plans to bring the event back next year.  “I was one of these kids not that long ago, so it’s a blessing to be able to come out, give back and have fun developing young talent” shared Ratliffe.

Ratliffe is entering into his fourth professional season overseas and is in the process of deciding where he will play.
